Transitions Centers had our first-ever Deaf Social Paint Night on September 30th in celebration of Deaf Awareness Month! The event was hosted by our ASL Lead Developmental Specialist, Lauren. Lauren came up with the idea of the event to help us think outside the box when it comes to art. She taught us that with abstract art there is no “rhyme or reason” and that you should trust the process; not everyone’s paintings will be the same. We extended this invitation to both our ASL Members as well as some friends in the Deaf community. There were many laughs, and even some painted faces! We look forward to many further events for our Deaf population.
